Tour Description
Escape the crowds and discover Ek Balam, one of the Yucatan's best-kept archaeological secrets. Unlike the more famous sites, Ek Balam still allows visitors to climb the towering Acropolis pyramid — stand at the summit and gaze across an endless canopy of jungle stretching to the horizon.
Your bilingual guide will walk you through the remarkably preserved stucco sculptures, intricate carvings, and the fascinating history of this once-powerful Mayan city. After the ruins, plunge into a stunning cenote nestled in the jungle — a natural sinkhole with crystalline waters perfect for a refreshing swim.
The day continues with a traditional Yucatecan box lunch featuring regional flavors, followed by a leisurely visit to the charming colonial town of Valladolid with its pastel-colored buildings, central plaza, and artisan shops.
